That's why he spars with McCoy so much, because he wonders if he's more like that than he cares to admit. Because even McCoy is more like Spock than he cares to admit. That's what makes Search for Spock all the more intriguing.Tony Laplumehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07854455859399339169noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955691.post-50527477723276955552013-11-18T20:08:54.003-05:002013-11-18T20:08:54.003-05:00As you suggest, for the sake of narrative, Spock a...As you suggest, for the sake of narrative, Spock and Data serve essentially the same purpose: to consider the question of what it is to be human. Interestingly, their own approaches to the matter are exactly opposite. Spock seeks to be less human, Data more so.The Armchair Squidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13509001761075530940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3955691.post-72462161390610831542013-11-18T11:48:51.015-05:002013-11-18T11:48:51.015-05:00David, Spot doesn't get nearly enough love!

I don't know how many episodes he saved the day by being the smartest and most analytical, and sometimes the most human. My son watches TNG with me on BBC America, and loves that Data has a cat named Spot. Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06208969934278199592noreply@blogger.com
